Is it possible to use the black DMX512 interface with the new DMXCreator software?

What type of lighting fixtures can be controlled by the DMXCreator?

DMXCreator is able to control any device equipped with the standard USITT DMX512(1990) interface and covering the whole timing specifications

My PC has no printer port. Can I use a USB to LPT convertor to get the DMXCreator512MK2 working?

No, unfortunately these interfaces support only printers. The only way is to use an 3rd party PC-Card (or PCI) to LPT card / board.

What are the supported OS for DMXCreator?

Version < 5.88 = WinME, WinXP, Win2000

Version > 5.88 = WinXP, Windows Vista

Is DMXCreator running on MAC systems?

No, the DMXCreator software is written for IBM PC compatible computers using Windows operating systems. Some customers reported positive results when using MAC computers running Windows-Emulator and DMXCreator on it. However, VXCO Lighting Systems does not recommend to use DMXCreator on MAC OS based computers

How many fixture can be controlled by the software

The number of fixtures is not limited (it's only limited by the number of available DMX512 channels of the DMXCreator interface) and the speed of your computer

How many different fixture types can be used for one show setup?

The total number of fixtures is only limited by the available amount of DMX channels (512 for DMXCreator512MK2 and DMXCreator512Basic, 1024 @ DMXCreator1024 and 1024+). The total amount of different fixtures is the same as above

What is the maximum amount of channels that one fixture can occupy?

256 DMX channels (means 256 different functions on one fixture).

I can't find any printed manual shipped with the set

Like on most new software products, the manual is included into the help of the DMXCreators software. It has some interactive menus for easy understanding of all the functions. Press the F1 key to open the manual. You will also find more detailled PDF manuals on the product CD or on the homepage

The DMXCreator1024 or DMXCreator512Basic is connected to the USB port. Is it possible to use more then one interface on the same computer to get more DMX512 channels?

No! The DMXCreator software supports only one DMXCreator interface at once (at the moment...)

I have an old 486 computer. Will DMXCreator work on this?

Yes, generally it should work with the DMXCreator512MK2 interface if the computer has an EPP mode printer interface. Because of the low resources of the pc, you are not able to use more then around 250 DMX512 channels and the Visual Emulator feature

I am user of the DMXLight / DMXWizard512. Is it possible to use the black DMX512 interface with the new DMXCreator software?

No, the DMXCreator software is a different product.
